OPEN LETTER TO APPLE: STOP TREATING POLISH AS A SECOND-CLASS LANGUAGE.
WWDC 2026 leaves Poland without Siri in Polish — for the third year in a row — without Polish captions on Apple's own developer conference, and without a roadmap. We open this letter on behalf of Polish Apple customers who have been paying full European price for hardware for a decade and getting a second-class language in return.

WARSAW, 9 JUNE 2026 — One day after the WWDC 2026 keynote we are publishing an open letter to Apple. Apple announced that the "more personal Siri" ships in autumn 2026 — in English only. Apple Intelligence adds eight more languages: Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (PT), Swedish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese. Polish is again missing from the list. In the European Union, the new Siri will skip iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch — only macOS 27 and Vision Pro will get it. And yesterday's conference, whose session videos are meant to be public documentation for years to come, did not get Polish captions next to a dozen other languages. Poland is 38 million people, a top-25 most-spoken language in the world, and a country where Apple sells hardware at the same euro price as in Stockholm. This letter is addressed to Apple Press, Apple Developer Relations, and personally to Tim Cook.
“„We are taking bets that Siri will never speak Polish. Ever. Because every time you have a chance to add a language, you „start with English" — and Polish quietly never makes the second batch. So we are placing the bet. The day Siri greets a Pole in Polish, dinner is on me."
We write as long-term Apple customers — Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch — all bought retail in Poland, all in active business use. We have been paying for this hardware for over a decade. We are some of those European „edge cases" the WWDC 2026 keynote glossed over. The hardware stays — the security model, the MDM management story, the longevity and the resale value remain best-in-class for a small Polish company. We are not switching to Surface or Pixel. Apple knows this. That is exactly why this letter is not a threat — it is a request to stop treating Polish like a second-class language inside the EU.
Four numbers from WWDC 2026 that insulted us
ZERO POLISH CAPTIONS ON WWDC
We click CC on the WWDC 2026 session recordings and see English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (BR). No Polish captions. Auto-generated YouTube captions in 60+ languages outperform Apple's own video player — on day one of your developer conference. Cost of a translator per session: a few hundred euros. Signal: „we do not see you."
THIRD YEAR IN A ROW WITHOUT POLISH
Apple Intelligence in 2026 adds another eight languages. Polish is not one of them. Polish was not added in 2025. It was not added in 2024. Poland is 38 million people, a top-25 most-spoken language in the world. Swedes get Siri (10M). Norwegians get Siri (5M). Danes get Siri (6M). Poles get a button that says „Your language is not supported".
IN THE EU: NOT ON iPHONE
Even if Apple Intelligence does arrive in Polish in a year or two, in the EU the new Siri ships only on macOS 27 „Golden Gate" and visionOS 27. iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch — the platforms Polish customers actually carry in their pocket and on their wrist — are excluded. Apple cites the DMA; Craig Federighi publicly blamed Brussels and gave no timeline. The Polish EU customer gets the worst-case scenario: no language plus no platform.
AT LEAST: OPENING TO COMPETITION
One genuinely positive signal: Apple Intelligence lets you set Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok as the default model in Writing Tools and Image Playground. Apple finally treats third-party LLMs as a swappable component. FlashAI has been doing exactly this since day one — with the small difference that we already speak Polish.
TWO CONCRETE ASKS FOR APPLE
First — Polish captions on the WWDC 2026 session videos and the keynote. Cost: a translator per session, a few hours of work. Signal: „Apple sees Poland." A four-trillion-dollar company can afford it. Second — a public roadmap for Polish in Apple Intelligence and Siri. Not a promise, not a „soon" — a date. Even „2027" would be more honest than the current silence. This letter is available in Polish on the same press page, ready to ship through the Apple Feedback Assistant — link at the bottom.
flashai.plmacOS 27 will land on Polish users' Macs in the EU this autumn — that part we mean without irony. The rest depends on whether anyone in Cupertino reads this letter and decides that 38 million people and a top-25 world language deserve more than three years of silence.
Signatories — the #FreePolishSiri community
This open letter is signed on behalf of the Polish #FreePolishSiri community — engineers, designers, founders, doctors, lawyers, salespeople who have been buying Apple hardware for a decade, paying European price for it, and hearing the same phrase every year: „your language is not supported." Any Polish technology company that wants to join the letter can send a signature to press@flashai.pl — we will publish an updated version with the list of signatories.
O FlashAI
FlashAI is a Polish conversational AI assistant platform for business. We work in 30 languages — Polish included, no „soon" and no exclusions. Deployments ship today, in production, on macOS, iOS, iPadOS and the browser — including in the EU, including in Poland. Slub24.pl, Kriocentrum and other rollouts use the FlashAI engine precisely because Siri will not speak a word of Polish for a long time yet.
